This week’s challenge is all about descent. I thought I’d already used all of the photos I’ve taken from the tops of mountains and buildings, but then I came across this random shot. It was taken at the top of a staircase at the Embarcadero Center in San Francisco.
There are many, many staircases and shortcuts woven into the Embarcadero Center. Most of them are hidden off the beaten path, but this one is in plain sight.
This Weekly Photo Challenge was hard for me. Maybe you haven’t noticed, but I’m not exactly the most joyful person ever. But I’m sure seeing a huge teddy bear (seriously, the thing is almost as big as I am!) ought to do the trick for many children.
There’s an old piano sitting in the Embarcadero Hyatt’s lobby. You’ve got to wonder how much cleaning it takes to make that kind of reflection…

Happy Holidays, folks. Remember that pic I posted of the Embarcadero Hyatt a while back? Here’s the same lobby, but this time it’s covered with even more lights and decorations exclusive to the holiday season. These guys decorate in style.
