One of the cooler features at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers is a lily pond inside the building. If it’s not to crowded, you can walk right up to it and enjoy the view. Considering how many tourists see it every day, it’s amazing how clean and serene it is. Larger version viewable here.

This week’s challenge is all about stuff being enveloped. It reminded me of the bees currently visiting my front yard; they buzz amongst the flowers, digging deep for the pollen within. It’s easy to imagine the little critters being wrapped up in the petals of a huge flower. Large version available here.

Bird of Paradise
There are a lot of gardens and flowers all over San Francisco’s Telegraph Hill. I found a bunch of Birds of Paradise above the wall on Montgomery Street.
