Located on the lower slopes of Haleakala, the garden boasts a huge assortment of flowers and plants, as well as koi pond that’s just out of frame on the left. Oh, and don’t worry if it’s raining. During my visit to the Kula Botanical Garden on Maui, I came across a flower I’d never seen before. The King Protea is the national flower of South Africa, and it looks amazing even when it isn’t fully bloomed.
It rained for almost half the week I was in Maui. I didn’t let that stop me from exploring anyway. Surprisingly, the bleak weather made the Kula Botanical Garden even more beautiful!
