There’s an ancient lava tube in the outskirts of Hana, Hawaii. You need a flashlight to get through most of it, but there are a few, gorgeous points at which the sun manages to pierce the depths. For some reason, this photo makes me think of the cover of a nature magazine, or an album of soothing nature sounds.
If you’re somewhere in the North Bay and want something yummy and local, give Gracie’s a shot. Great sandwiches, salads, and of course, barbeque. If you happen to look up from your food, you might notice these re-purposed jars hanging overhead.
Part of my commute involves BART, the main train system for the San Francisco Bay Area. Don’t be fooled by the lack of people; this was taken at the Embarcadero station on a Saturday. If I took this on a weekday evening, there’d be at least 500 more people in this photo.
